Surface Creek Animal Shelter which is operated by 501(c)(3) board, headquartered in Cedaredge, Colorado. This is a highly regarded Animal Shelter in Delta County.
Some of the services Surface Creek Animal Shelter provides include: Sheltering for dogs and cats who are found stray or are relinquished in the Surface Creek Valley area. SCAS is licensed by the state of Colorado and compliant with PACFA regulations.
Founded in 2001, the shelter takes in about 100 stray dogs and 50 relinquished dogs each year. As well as about 200 cats and kittens each year. About 50% of the dogs are returned to their rightful owners each year. A majority of the remaining cats and dogs are adopted after they have been spayed or neutered. They are also the only Animal Shelter in the Cedaredge.

However, devastatingly they did not want her back. She was beautiful and just needed a little more attention, love & training as she was only 7 months old. My husband and I travel often and sadly, couldn’t keep her. SCAS allowed me to bring her in, with arms wide open!! Staff was wonderful to work with, kind and attentive. They contacted the previous owner to confirm this decision and within days had Daisy adopted to a wonderful, pre-screened and welcoming family that could give her the love she sought & needed. Wonderful place.”
